The ride
Cross-country event with a traditional trials vs dirt bikes challenge.
Ten year anniversary event. The 2027 event is officially part of the NZ series, with series points on offer.
Once a year the gates are opened for the Korito Technical Matrix. The training tracks are joined up into a standard XC loop. The lap includes some single track for the Silver and Gold classes, plus a matrix challenge at the end of each lap. Spectator viewing is beside the car park for the matrix.
It is described as a quick-fire fun event with a morning prologue plus an afternoon 2 hour XC race. Chicken lines have been added for all classes to keep the afternoon race flowing.
Race is 4 laps for each class: Gold, Silver, Bronze. Total race time is around the two hour mark.
Each lap for Gold, Silver and Bronze includes riding the matrix section.

Results and penalties
Qualification only determines start time for the main event. No penalties are carried forward to the main race. Fastest qualification time starts first; slowest starts last.
Fastest qualifier of each class gets to choose whether to start 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their class. 4th fastest starts 4th, 5th fastest starts 5th, and so on.
Penalties per lap for a foot dab in the matrix:
- 1 = 10 secs
- 2 = 20 secs
- 3+ = 30 secs
- 5 (unable to complete matrix as per normal sections rules) = 50 secs penalty
The XC lap time plus matrix scoring accumulates to provide lap time and class results.
Facilities
Kitchen, shower and toilet facilities are an easy walk up the hill to the new rotary cowshed.

Winner of each class receives a bag of lollies. Spot prizes for everyone. Prize vouchers are up for grabs across Gold, Silver and Bronze.
