About this Ride
Location
3952 Pahiatua-Pongaroa Road, Pongaroa, Tararua.
The race venue is approximately 1 hour from Pahiatua and 1 hour 30 minutes from Palmerston North.
The ride
6 hour cross country event. No look lap.
Riders briefing at 08:30. Start at 09:00.
Fundraiser for ISDE riders and riders heading overseas to race the GNCC series in America.

For the overall club trophy, both riders in the same club team must be affiliated and enter under the same club to gain points for their club, although the club does not need to be MNZ affiliated.
Teams not affiliated to a club may still enter and race the event. Mates/support class teams cannot claim points toward the overall club trophy.
A club may have as many affiliated teams as they like, but only the two highest placing teams from each club score points toward the overall club trophy.
Fees
- Team entry: $150
- Ironman / Ironwoman / Iron Vets 40+: $90
- MNZ day licence: $45 cash only
Online entries were noted as available soon on Silver Bullet, with on-the-day entries accepted. Cash only please.
Requirements
- Riders must be 15 years and over.
- Riders can enter on a Junior or Senior MNZ licence or a day licence, but the event is also described as a senior-only race and all riders must be 15+ and on a senior licence.
Camping and facilities
Camping noted at Pongaroa camping grounds, 25 Makomako Street, Pongaroa.
Makuri Domain was also recommended for weekend camping and was noted as the prize-giving location in the afternoon, with free burgers provided.
The Pongaroa Squash Club next door to the camping grounds may have showers available for a small cost. The Pongaroa Pub is nearby for meals.
A bar will also be available at prize-giving, cash only.
Other accommodation is available in Pahiatua, Palmerston North, and Woodville.
