About this Ride
Location
Based in Taupo, Waikato. Saturday night accommodation is at a private lodge in National Park. Riders return to Taupo on Sunday afternoon.
The ride
GPS-navigated 2-day adventure ride of approximately 700 km, taking the long way around Lake Taupo and beyond. Route includes back country roads, gravel roads, reasonably well formed off-road tracks, plus access onto private farmland and forestry roads and tracks.
Suitable for road registered dual purpose motorcycles from 250s to 1200s.
Main route may include moderate off-road conditions depending on weather, including short steep inclines and declines, rutted areas, slippery or muddy terrain, and stream crossings. Optional challenge sections are available for competent off-road riders on enduro-style bikes.
Moto Mapped staff riders will be on route to guide and assist. Guides, sweep crew and support vehicle included. The Moto Mapped van can carry bags you do not wish to take on the bike.
Navigation
Riders must navigate using GPS; this ride is no longer navigated by roll chart.
Groups riding together are advised to have at least two riders with GPS. At least one rider in each group should be competent using GPS navigation.

Registration
Friday 6 November from 18:00 onwards, with briefing at 20:00, at The Fox and Hounds in Taupo.
All riders must sign on and collect ride packs, stickers, and event tees at the pre-ride briefing.
Facilities
Saturday night lodge includes a bar, hot plunge pools, hot showers, and linen provided.
Fuel stops and cafes along the route have been alerted.
Notes
Please organise your own accommodation in Taupo for Friday night.
